What kind of Internet resources are included in the directory?
- The subject categories and links for each directory in the suite have been chosen to specifically meet the needs of students, educators and librarians.
- The categories and links have been chosen based upon years of professional reference library experience and we strive to include only reputable and relaible information resources.
- Each subject category in the directory includes direct links to reputable and reliable sites and also includes links to other major directory subject category listings (i.e. Google Directory, Yahoo Directory Open Directory Project, Educypedia, Internet Public Library, Librarian's Internet Index, Intute, etc.).
- Directories are constructed and maintained by human beings, rather than by the automated computer programs used to create search engines.

How does the subscription work?
- In order to post the LibraryLinks.org directory on your library's website you will need to
subscribe. To do so, you must either fill out an online subscription form or download a
subscription form and mail it to us.

After we receive your subscription information we will contact youhere to determine how you would like the LibraryLinks.org directory to appear
on your site and how you would like to title the directory (i.e. 'Internet Links', 'Our Library's Web Links', 'Our Favorite Sites', etc.).

After the site
parameters and directory title have been determined, we will send you an exclusive link which you add to your current website. All you have to do is add
this link to your website and we take care of the rest.
- We continually update and maintain the directory for you and we are always on the search for new and useful sites. As a subsciber, you do not
have to worry about the hassle of updating or maintaining the integrity of the links in the directory.
- We encouraged you to participate in
improving the directory with your comments and suggestions. If you know of a useful link or a useful category please feel free to submit
it for review. Each page of the directory contains an email link for doing so, as well as an email link for reporting bad or broken links.

How is the directory added to our site?
- [return to top]Adding the directory to your site is simple and painless. After you have subscribed and all the visual parameters have been set up we will
send you an exclusive link (i.e. http://www.librarylinks.org/?cl=38830a). All you have to do is add this link to
your existing website. That's it! We take care of the rest!

- Note - If you change the design of your website and/or change your Internet host it is your responsibility to contact LibraryLinks.org so we can
update the directory appearance parameters in your account.

Do we have to know any special html programming to add the directory to our site?
- No. All you have to be able to do is add a hyperlink to your site (i.e. a href="http://www.librarylinks.org/?cl=3883a").

Do we have any control over how the directory appears on our site?
- Yes. You can specify how you want the directory to appear (i.e. your header/logo, font & hypertext parameters, background colors, etc.).
- All you need to do is let us know what you want and we will take care of the rest.
- You also have the option of choosing your own title for the directory (i.e. 'Internet Links', 'Our Library's Web Links', 'Our Favorite Sites', etc.).
- In addition, we can include hypertext links to other sections of your website in the header/log portion of the directory.
- Note - If you change the design of your website and/or change your Internet host it is your responsibility to inform us of the changes so we can update the directory appearance parameters in your account.

Can we have local/regional links included in the LibraryLinks.org directory?
- It is not feasible to have local or regional link collections within the LibraryLinks.org directories. The directores are used by libraries/schools/students all over the world. Local links would not be applicable to all subscribers/users.

Can we have our online subscripton databases added to the directory?
- It is not feasible to have individual subscription databases added to the directory.
- You can, however,
add specific category links to other pages within your website. For example, if you have a page listing all of your online
subscription databases, you can add all of the specific directory category links from the LibrayLinks.org directory to that page.

Is the directory searchable?
- Yes. The subject directory contains a search function.
- A search will result in a listing of all the subject categories and all the external links within the
directory which match the search criteria.
- Note - The LibraryLinks.org directory search function is not an Internet search engine and does not search
the Internet or your libray's website. To search the Internet the user must access and use an Internet search engine (Google, Yahoo, etc.).
The directory does contain a comprehensive listing of search engines!

Can we have the directory pages stored on our Internet host's server?
- Storing the directory pages on your host is not be possible.
- If you would like to develop your own links directory we can work with you to develop a database.

Do you guarantee the integrity of all the links in the directory?
- Although we strive to maintain the integrity of all the links in the directory it would be impossible for us to guarantee 100% that every link in the directory will always work and/or will always contain accurate information.
- We check the integrity of the directory's links on a regular basis using an independent link checker program and we also browse through the directory on a regular basis searching for errors and omissions.
- We do ask for your help in reporting broken or bad links or in reporting resources which are not accurate.
- Each page of the directory contains email links for suggesting new links and/or reporting bad or broken links.

We would like to add special graphics text, or logo/header to the directory. Is this possible?
- Yes. Special graphics, logos, headers text and/or banners may be added to the top portion of the directory. At this time, banners
text, and/or graphics may not be added to the left, right or bottom of the directory pages. You may be able to accomplish this
with frames. Ask your webmaster for more information on frames.

Can we title the main directory page something other than 'Internet Directory'?
- Yes. You can title the directory anything you like (i.e. 'Internet Links', 'OUr Library's Web Links', 'Our Favorite Sites', etc.).

Will we be able to access the directory at any time during the day?
- Yes. Your students, teachers/professors and library staff will be able to access the directory 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year
unless, of course, there is an unplanned system outage due to circumstances beyond our
control (natural disaster, power outages, etc...). Although such outages are 'self-correcting', it can sometimes
take several hours before the routers reconfigure to bypass any broken sections of the Internet.
