Greetings! Welcome to LibraryLinks.org.
The idea for LibraryLinks.org came about from my 10+ years of
experience as a reference librarian and realizing there was a need for an
inexpensive and efficient way for librarians to provide reliable and convenient
access to the best educational resources the Internet has to
offer.
The Internet and the Information Revolution has exploded into the
Library and Educational professions. Given the lack of time and resources in these professions, organizing,
navigating, and locating reliable information and websites in the ocean of
information available on the Internet can be overwhelming - if not
impossible. This is why I created LibraryLinks.org
The mission of LibraryLinks.org is to assist students, educators and library staff in locating, discovering
and disseminating knowledge by providing them with a well organized point of access for reliable,
trustworthy, freely available educational information on the Internet.
A major role of a library is to provide convenient and effective access to high quality information in all formats. It is the
responsibility of librarians to locate, evaluate, select and organize high quality information resources which will promote,
reinforce and enrich educational pursuits and life-long learning.
In order to assist librarians in
fulfilling this role we have created, maintain and continually improve
educational internet subject directories which provide students, faculty and staff easy access to the most
reliable information and reference tools the Internet has to offer.
We strive to provide convenient access to educational websites and/or authoritative
educational subject directories which are created and maintained by educators, librarians, experts, professionals or others who are qualified to
present the content provided.
We are committed to helping you provide the very best the Internet has to
offer to your students, faculty and library staff.
